Song: Bleed From Within - The End Of All We Know [Fracture (2020), 2019]

I think this was one of the first metalcore songs I fell in love with for the guitarwork. Granted, my encounters with metalcore were sparse and sporadic at the time, but I vaguely remember this song being the first time I was ever captivated by the instrumental work behind the vocals. Although not the sole catalyst, I imagine this song was one of many pertinent tracks that eventually lead to me picking up the guitar.

The End Of All We Know is a very fast-paced and energetic track from the very beginning. The riffage is speedy and full of vigour, coupling fast, bouncy licks and colourful tapping. Once the vocals come in, it only gets bouncier, Scott unleashing his rage over a groovy two-step beat. The blast chugs that follow are some of the best moments in the whole track, and I believe was the section that wowed me instrumentally.

The chorus has a super open sound and is very anthemic and arena-esque, especially with the reverb-ed gang vocals. The lead lines in the back are super fun, and the chorus as a whole is super solid.

The main breakdown is super fun, despite being the exact same riff. I love how they build up to it, and the callout moment is just perfect metalcore. I don't even mind them reusing the riff because, honestly, I want to hear it again.

I don't put this song on very often, but when I do I always get excited to headbang to the song once again. It's definitely one of the more iconic metalcore songs in the past few years for me, and I have to give credit where it's due, it definitely was consequential to both my love for metalcore and me picking up guitar. Thank you, Bleed From Within.
